This is one of five photographs shot by Yoshito Matsushigeon the day of the bombing in Hiroshima, the only photographs taken that day within Hiroshima that are known.

"...in front of the police box of Senda township located at the west end of Miyuki Bridge, a policeman took off the lid of an oil can and started to give first aid treatment to the people with burns, but the number of the injured increased rapidly. I thought this must be photographed and held the camera in position. The scene Isaw through the finder was too cruel. Among the hundreds of injured persons of whom you cannnot tell the difference between male and female, there were children screaming 'It's hot, it's hot!' and infants crying over the body of their mother who appeared to be already dead. I tried to pull myself together by telling myself that I'm a news cameraman, and it is my duty and privilege to take a photograph, even if it is just one, and even if people take me as a devil or a cold-hearted man. Susan put her barefooted sons in the car, strapped them in their car seats and began driving around. In her confession she stated that she wanted to die and was headed to her mother's house, but decided against it. Instead she drove to John D. One of the most popular of the RRR sub-labels is the Recycled Music series, which consists of used cassette tapes of pop and rock music that have been taped over with new music by a noise band. RRRecycled tapes are labeled with a simple strip of adhesive tape along the spine of the insert with the artist's name hand-written upon it. Part of the charm of the recycled releases is that each tape is unique, and that, in some cases, the original audio is still partly audible. They have historically sold for $4 each, in order to encourage curious listeners to take a chance on a band they may not have heard of.

Currently one of the newest physical releases from Roil Noise’s CDR side, Rabbit Girls’ business card-sized mini lists on the RNO website as “a dreamy remix of the original track.” With more syllables in the title than minutes in the track, there isn’t a whole lot for this reviewer to dissect– Rabbit Girls lay down a push-pull drone of a single tone, occasionally thicken it somewhat, and add fleeting artifacts that often make you wonder if you’re hearing something outside your headphones, or within. Perhaps it was these transient sounds that inspired the title.

As for sound quality, I can’t detect any real flaws, though the track start is a bit sudden. An impressive low end sounds best on my speakers, and gave my desk a good rattle. After more than a few listens, I’m fairly certain I hear super-slowed vocals as well. Someone with the appropriate software might have fun speeding this up to see if there is a hidden message about the thing on the cover. Is it lumpy soap? A brick? A brownie? Who makes a stamp like this?

The blatant and shameless plug for a record label in an introduction goes like this…Not only is the Roil Noise label one of the best kept secrets of the American underground , with a huge array of diverse artists in their roster of acts, but their releases won’t give your bank manager, or your wife, a cardiac arrest on account of them being so God Damn cheap. Add to that their packaging for a release, some incredibly unique and stunning, and you end up having nothing but total respect and admiration for a label going out on a limb to bring you music from the other side of the fence. A perfect example of this exemplary professional ethic is to be found on this release by the Rabbit Girls

But first we must ask…Who are the Rabbit Girls? Not, in any way, to be confused with ‘Who are the Mystery Girls’…which was a song off of the ‘not so good in retrospect second album’ by The New York Dolls. The information is vague to say the least. Listed as being the work of one Noah von Xeuitsh hearsay…not to be confused with the rancid pop vomit of Hearsay… says that he has very strong connections to the Roil Noise Record label. Something that may or may not be true. The plot thickens with every word. The Rabbit Girls started over 10 years ago, back in 1995, and the many releases to date, too many to list here, have taken in the musical genres of Glitch, Breakcore, Drone, Circuit Bending and Noise. The last release by Rabbit Girls I had the discomforting pleasure to subject myself to, and you owe it to yourself to hear, was the excellent ‘Hard Drive’ release…which is still available to buy direct from Roil Noise. Not only was the music stimulation for the ears and brain but the packaging was something else as well.

‘Demonizer’ comes housed in a 2x3" dual hub CDR holder, never seen one of those before, enclosed in a 4 millimetre odd sized clear zipper styled bag. Typically Roil Noise in that respect. Each CDR features one track of layered cassette tape massacres of between 19 & 20 minutes duration. Basically each CDR is a headlong long noise assault into the abyss. Sound sculptures from the very septic bowels of hell itself. A torrent of aural self abuse that is, quite frankly, almost overbearing and painful to the ear, and yet stylishly edifying in the long run. These man made manipulated and mutilated pieces of noise junk create a cacophony of such magnitude that you almost fear the lose of sanity whilst being subjected to them. Migraine alert! Migraine alert! ‘Demonizer’ makes no concessions to fineness or style. There are no arty farty pretensions on show. It takes absolutely no prisoners by setting its stall firmly in the ‘noise abuse’ genre and is all the better for it. Fuck it…this won’t be to everyone’s taste. The disturbing pleasures to be found within these two tracks suitable only to those who fully appreciate the harsher musical spheres. Everyone else will find it onerous in the extreme to get into. But then again…‘Demonizer’ was never meant for them in the first place.

Roil Noise…a fucking great label deserving far more media exposure than they get and, of course, your support. Rabbit Girls…a fucking great act within a fucking great label. ‘Demonizer’…the musical equivalent of being buried alive during the Great 1906 San Francisco Earthquake. Hey Ma…the walls came tumbling down around my fucking ears. Give it a try and see what I mean. Beyond reproach in every aspect.

The Rabbit Girls (and there’s no female bunnies in the group mores the pity) started away back in 1995 and have a bucket load of releases under their belts. The brainchild (or should that be the bastard child) of Noah Fleischman, with help from assorted friends, the project just keeps slogging on although you’ve probably never heard of them before. Keeping a profile lower than a rattlesnake in Missouri USA they have a home base at the Roil Noise record label which releases some of the best DIY electronics you’ll ever have the pleasure / miss pleasure to hear. It’s a personal taste thing. To each their own etc, etc, etc.
"Hard Drive" consists of 5 tracks lasting just under 18 minutes of the best / worst…delete as applicable…geeky computer aided tomfoolery where all manner of sounds are manipulated and cut n pasted into off kilter oddball combinations of rhythm and noise which is as quirky as it is immensely satisfying…depending on your point of view. They call it ‘Glitch’ music folks. Some would call it a ‘God awful racket’. Others with a more open mind would call it ‘Adventures into the sonic unknown’. I fall into the latter category. The mixture of samples and breakneck beats with all manner of electronic weirdness is a refreshing take on sound exploration experiments. You just gotta play it FUCKING LOUD to revel in the sheer inventive tub thumping craziness of it all. Not so much ‘far out there’ but more ‘shouldn’t even be there in the first place’. This is totally over the top spastic noise for spastic freaks of all denominations.
As a bonus…and a first for the Roil Noise label who aren’t the most inventive presentation wise…"Hard Drive" is packaged onto a piece of computer circuit board which is utter genius. Hard Drive. Computers. Get it? You should and you must.

This is total glitch noise. The first 4 tracks; Eating Out Of Boredom, Stress Fracture, Lost Hope Machine, and Hard Drive represent what the sound of glitch and its randomness is all about. The last track, Hack Glitchery, is pretty harsh and will appeal to the metal heads as all the samples and material in this track seem to be grind core smashes. Spastic clic’s and fucks with samples is prevalent throughout the tracks. The 1st and 4th track have a lot of vocal samples played in the background that add a soft tone to the craziness going on in front of your ears. The last two tracks feature a great ambient project called Ctephin. I’m not exactly sure what he adds to the two tracks because there is so much going on. Whatever it was it was great. Lots of bass and drums are used throughout this disc as well and the release sounds best when played uber loud. Like most noise is, but glitch is hard to get into at times, so trust me on this. Play it loud!

The artwork, yes! This is pure genius. The CDr is placed on a perfectly rectangular piece of computer board with the disc being held in the center top. The tracks are listed on a transparent paper leaf that is wrapped around the computer board. Very clean and very well presented. When I ordered this I hadn’t scene the art yet. I opened it up and actually laughed out loud saying; "Christ this is cool." Makes me wonder were Noah got all those boards from, hmmmm.

Still for order and still kicking ass. Rabbit Girls is a glitch band that should be around for a long time with originality like this. 5th track quote; "I wondered if it'd be louder with bigger wires."

If you know anything about MISC then you can probably guess
what this tape is like. Just imagine an endless spew of google searches as audio
splooge. This is tape funny at times, garish and stupid at others. Then it kicks
you in the nuts with a harsh noise blasts. Lots of samples, recordings of
children stapling themselves and parents being total assholes and mechanical
horror drones.
Packaging 5 - spray painted cassette in
folded laser print in what appears to be a small halloween candy bag but a
reasonable DIY effort none the less.. at least the tape has a title written on
it.
Composition 9 - pretty good flow considering the
diversity of sounds
Fidelity 7 - pretty good considering
Harshness 5 - harsh at times but all over the place

Tracy freeman was a drunken 90lb crackhead women in the audience that i,PAT RUBBISH 200+lbs and KELSO ASHBY III 175lbs,had to tackle to the ground and hurt because she was hitting people,stealing their drinks,yelling stupid shit,breaking things,she threw a bottle at my friend ILYA during his set,in general she was being a total fucking loser and was lucky that we are nice guys or she would have been raped,beaten,or killed that night but we just locked her in KELSO'S van where she passed out and PISSED on the floor!
yes that sounds like she was performing that night but no that was her usual everyday act..no shit...everyday!!!

i assume she is dead now with all her dead "babies"

side note to certain friends:
LISA was at this show but on the original video she appears for a few very short seconds
